La creatività è l’arte, la capacità e la facoltà cognitiva della mente di creare e inventare: rappresenta una forma mentis che assume una funzione particolarmente significativa in rapporto ai nostri processi cognitivi, come l’intuizione, la percezione, il pensiero analogico, la simulazione, l’associazione di idee, la ricerca nel contesto di un problema strutturato, la riflessione, l’immaginazione, la rielaborazione personale, il pensiero critico. La creatività coinvolge non solo il profilo cognitivo e metacognitivo, ma anche l’orizzonte affettivo-motivazionale della nostra soggettività, costituito da sentimenti, bisogni, emozioni, pulsioni, interessi, passioni, desideri. Ognuno di noi è un universo in cui «dormono forze ignote come re mai nati». Per dare un senso alla nostra vita è fondamentale riuscire ad esprimere le potenzialità creative connaturate nella nostra interiorità: esteriorizzare le motivazioni più profonde che segnano e scandiscono i «colori» della nostra anima. Il primo dovere di ognuno è nei confronti della propria coscienza, del proprio tempo interiore: «essere se stessi» nel rispetto della vita autentica.
Il Convegno, promosso dal Dipartimento di Scienze Umane in collaborazione con il Dottorato di ricerca in Scienze Umanistiche, ha l’obiettivo di studiare il tema della creatività secondo linee di ricerca transdisciplinari per favorire e valorizzare al massimo il potenziamento del confronto e la produttività scientifica, partendo dal presupposto secondo il quale gli obiettivi e la qualità dell’attività di ricerca su questa area tematica sono strettamente connessi al grado di interrelazione e collaborazione tra tutte le sue componenti. Il programma del convegno è strutturato in un orizzonte interdisciplinare ed è stato articolato in sei sezioni, che includono diversi settori scientifico-disciplinari in un orizzonte trasversale e multidisciplinare, corrispondenti alle sei macro-aree di ricerca (Humanities, Linguistic Sciences, Social Sciences, Psychological Sciences, Philosophical Sciences, Education Sciences) del Dipartimento di Scienze Umane, con la partecipazione di 25 relatori.

50th Anniversary of Apollo 11 Moon Landing

Fifty years ago on July 20th, the American astronaut Neil Armstrong
– b. August 5, 1930, Wapakoneta – d. August 25, 2012, Cincinnati –
was the first man to land on the Moon, along with his colleague Edwin Aldrin.

As he stepped out of the ship, he said with great emotion:

”That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind”.

The dream of Icarus came true: a new scientific era had just begun.

The XII International GUIDE Conference

The XII International GUIDE Conference “Online Learning in the 21st Century: Practice Problems and Prospects” will be held on February 15-17, 2017 at B Resort & Spa, in Orlando, Florida, United States of America.  The conference will be jointly organized by Guide Association and University of Phoenix (Central Florida).

The Conference aims to promote discussions about the current status and next evolutions of distance learning. Particular attention will be given to the new pedagogical approaches to be used for the new digital generation, innovative emerging technologies and the keys for the successful improvement of a standardized quality system in e-learning. Moreover, the congress aims to push for the creation of communities of experts sharing information and best practices. Particular attention will be given to case studies and practical experiences.

GUIDE Association next conference in Rome

The new GUIDE Association conference The Education in the Fourth Industrial Revolution will be held in Rome-Italy the 3rd and 4th May 2018 at Gugliemo Marconi University. The purpose of the conference is to provide an academic platform for researchers, scientist, professors and institutions to analyze the impact of the new technologies involved in the so called Fourth Industrial Revolution that is characterized by the new role acquired by machines, capable to do what was considered before only possible by the humans. As far as this new approach could affect all the aspects of life, society, economy, culture, education and the job market, this requires that the Universities have to adapt themselves to the new changes by creating an adequate contexts to prepare their students for the future jobs. As a consequence of a new industrial revolution, schools, colleges and Universities have to face new challenges in the field of research and applications and to analyse the new trends coming up such as: digital ubiquity, cyber-physical systems, and artificial intelligence, 3D printing, robotics, Big Data and Internet of Things (IOT) In this framework again research plays a central role in transferring students the ability to use and apply different knowledge in diversified contexts, in learning how to collaborate with their colleagues and their teachers and how to use new ways of communicating and the adequate skills to solve complex situations.

International GUIDE Conferences: Buenos Aires and beyond

The IX International GUIDE Conference, held in Buenos Aires from 6th to 8th May 2015, has seen the participation of outstanding universities coming from numerous countries of Latin America (Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela) as well as from USA, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Turkey, Spain, Italy and UK.

The Conference focused on different topics, ranging from the comparison between traditional and distance education to relevant social themes, such as digital inclusion, e-citizenship and online education accessibility. (…)

Editorial

At the conclusion of the third year of publication of FormaMente, two outstanding international events in the field of distance education saw the participation of GUIDE Association. In fact, in the second half of this year, that celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the 2nd ACDE Conference and General Assembly, “Open and distance learning for sustainable development” took place in July in Lagos, Nigeria and the ICDE Standing Conference of President took place in October in Shangai, followed by the ODE Global Forum.
